If you are planning on working on molding, you’ll want to pick up a blade with finer teeth.2. The package is large and has a ton of Styrofoam. I’m happy it helped keep the saw safe during transport, but it’s a lot of Styrofoam to throw away. By CR Stuart “Rick”:I have had the older version of this saw for a long time and it takes a lot of abuse. I also have the big sliding double bevel which is almost twice as heavy. I like my single bevel saw so much that I tend to take it for small jobs because it is so light.
Pros:
Solid angle adjustment feel with good detants.
Excellent angle locking mechanism. MUCH improved from older model.
Smooth travel in the cutting action.
Horizontal handle and positive trigger are a big plus. The included blade is surprisingly good.
Cons:
Dust bag…SRSLY? I would prefer to have an option to put a diverter on the outlet rather than the bag which fills almost immediately. As it is, the sawdust shoots out into the air at a 45 degree angle. Very messy! Cost a star in my review.
I am a little died in the wool Dewalt. I tend to never have a problem with their products and rely on my tools heavily. I would recommend this saw to anyone.
